We are talking the good stuff, no wax, no fillers, no soy lecithin, no sugar, just straight up decadent dark chocolate.  Think delicious chocolate covered almonds or raisins, homemade Mounds and Reese’s, adding mint or orange extract for flavored chocolates, sprinkling bars with hazelnuts or coconut…YUM! The possibilities are endless, healthy, simple, and delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. coconut oil or cocoa butter
  • 1/2 c. cocoa powder or carob
  • 1/4 c. raw honey (adjustable for taste)
  • 1 t. real vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp Utah ‘Real’ salt or Himalayan salt
  • a drop or two of orange or mint essential oil or extract (optional)

Instructions

On VERY low heat melt coconut oil or cocoa butter. Keep it at low heat as you add the remaining ingredients. Do not let it get to a boil.

Whisk in honey, salt, and vanilla. Then whisk in cocoa. Add flavoring if desired. Pour into molds or dip strawberries, almonds, etc. Refrigerate until solid. Store in refrigerator or freezer.

Note: If you use cocoa butter, this recipe will stay solid at room temperature. If you use coconut oil, it will be softer, so store them in the refrigerator or freezer. I usually eat the coconut oil version straight out of the freezer.
